As our Web 2.0 class is drawing to a close I found this video through my Google Reader and I want each of you to watch and reflect on the message it is sharing with us as educators. Thank you to Chanisse and this course for preparing us to meet the challenge!

Thing 23-Completion
Yipee-I have completed the course! Thank you Chanisse for the valuable tools you have introduced to us! I no longer fear Web 2.0!
Thing 22- NING
Well, I am not feeling like Ning would be the choice for me to use. I kept feeling like it was overlapping other web 2.0 tools. I have used the Ning professionally with GaCollege411, they have established a Ning to give educators and administrators a place to network. When I visited the Ning I found an interesting fact in the Art area about the new modern Monopoly Game it will have credit cards to keep track of your digital currency. Is there no need for the banker anymore?
Thing 21 Pageflakes
Pageflakes was quite an experience. As I was playing I was losing more and more time. It was like building a personal website all on one page. The availability of information gives endless possibilities when building your page. I think it would be necessary to use this tool carefully with students with the fear that it could overwhelm them. I would have to say my use of this tool in the classroom would be limited.
Thing 20 Google docs
I have worked on 3 different shared Google docs. I like being able to make changes, highlight in a color specific to me and then share with the other collaborators. I will plan on using Google docs more in an administrative role when I prepare documents that need input from other staff. I used something very similar when I was preparing for our accreditation, but now I will put Google docs to work in our 5 year review.
I have used both of these resources in my classroom in the past few years when I was teaching science. They are a great teaching tool to add short visual clips to the content of the curriculum. The possibilities are endless, just be careful to always preview the clips before you use them. I have included one of my favorites on the protein molecule laminin-if you have never watched it please take 5 minutes to watch it now! You will be blessed!
Thing 18 Podcasting
Thing 17
My only experience with podcasts so far have been with church sermons at NorthStar church. Those are great when you miss a Sunday. Well after today I realize I did not really fully understand the world of “Podcasting.” I used my ITunes to search for podcasts. I subscribed to The Science Channel and watched a podcast on brain scans and the area that lights up in your brain when you look at pictures of familiar faces and loved ones. I also found Ancient Places TV and watched a podcast of Stonehenge, one of the places I would love to visit. I see both the educational and personal benefits of podcasting!
Thing 16
I love books and LibraryThing is a new found treasure! From a personal view I did a search on several books and read the member reviews of the books, what a great site to access before buying a new book. The Zeitgeist section of the site was awesome-listings of the top rated authors, top 75 books, lowest rated authors, authors who use LibraryThing and many other entries of interest. Great tool:)
Thing 15
I had used Delicious earlier when I was tagging some photos from flickr. When I went onto my account and searched for sites I tried to focus for now on education. There is so much information on the site and the search possibilities are endless. I am always so surprised by the amount of free tools for education that are found on the web. I can see with delicious that you have an opportunity to find those sites that have already been used by other educators and feel comfortable using them yourself.
